CEA Praises Startup Act 3.0 as Important Step Forward for U.S. Economic Growth
Arlington, VA – 02/13/2013 – The following statement is attributable to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) ®, in regard to the introduction of the Startup Act 3.0 from Senators Jerry Moran (R-KS), Mark Warner (D-VA), Chris Coons (D-DE) and Roy Blunt (R-MO):
“Startups play an important role in expanding the U.S. economy and driving job growth. The Startup Act 3.0 includes many policy changes necessary to allow for accelerated growth of this important sector. It will allow foreign-born, U.S.-educated immigrants to remain in America and use their training to build businesses and create domestic jobs. It also clears away a variety of anachronistic regulations that have made it difficult for small businesses to expand and thrive.
“The Startup Act is a bold, strategic proposal and exactly what we must do as a nation to support and foster innovation and entrepreneurialism.”
