CEA Hails Unanimous FCC Support of Incentive Auctions
Arlington, VA – 05/16/2012 – All five Federal Communications Commission commissioners today voiced their support for voluntary incentive spectrum auctions during a Senate Commerce Committee hearing.
Julie Kearney, vice president of regulatory affairs of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, released the following statement regarding this sweeping support:
“The FCC’s universal support for voluntary incentive auctions is encouraging, and we look forward to working with the full five-member commission and FCC staff on this technology policy imperative. Furthermore, our nation is facing a spectrum crunch because of surging sales of smartphones and tablets, and access to more spectrum is necessary to confront this challenge.”
