CEA Applauds Reintroduction of the Innovation Act of 2015

CEA Smart Grid Device Installation Added to Catalog of Standards

Today, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced the Recommended Practice for the Installation of Smart Grid Devices, CEA/CEDIA-CEB29, has been added to the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel’s Catalog of Standards. Modern homes include many products that connect to each other over a variety of networks, and to operate reliably, both the products and the wiring to which they connect must be well protected and  installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. CEA Applauds Reintroduction of ECPA Update Bills in House and Senate

Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) and Jared Polis (D-Colo.), and the Senate Electronic Communications Privacy Act Amendments Act of 2015 by Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), which would update the 1986 Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA): “We thank Reps. Yoder and Polis and Sens. Spectrum Auction Exceeds Expectations, Raises Nearly $45 Billion

Today the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) closed bidding in its auction of the AWS-3 spectrum band, bringing in nearly $45 billion for the United States Treasury. The record-breaking auction far exceeded the FCC’s initial estimate of just over $10 billion, showing the massive size of the spectrum economy. The last wireless spectrum auction, in 2008, accumulated a total of $19.6 billion. Full Release

As families from New England to Seattle prepare for this Sunday's game, Safe Kids Worldwide is once again partnering with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® to promote National TV Safety Day on January 31. Every 45 minutes in the United States, a child is rushed to the emergency room for injuries caused by televisions that are not properly secured. Today the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced its formal partnership with the California Plug Load Research Center (CalPlug), joining the center in its efforts to advance energy efficiency, environmental quality and economic growth.
