Automotive Electronics Division

Mobile.jpgFrom ensuring a vibrant market for aftermarket products, to working with automakers to offer state-of-the-art OEM solutions, the Automotive Electronics Division strives to ensure consumers have a wealth of options when choosing electronics for their vehicles. The Automotive Electronics Division is also committed to safe use of mobile electronics products in the vehicle supported by uniform government regulations regarding such use. The division fosters the growing demand for in-vehicle electronics with initiatives around promotion, research, technology, standards, legislation, safety education and certification.

Key Initiatives:


DRIVER DISTRACTION
Proactively monitor legislation and regulation affecting the mobile electronics industry particularly on the issues of distracted driving and right to repair.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Support the goals and work of the MECP Committee to increase the number of Mobile Electronics Certified Professionals.


PROMOTION
Continue to raise awareness among consumers of aftermarket and OEM automotive electronics products and services available by highlighting the benefits of in-vehicle electronics for both entertainment and safety.


CONNECTIVITY
Ensure (maintain or increase) the interoperability of CE products in the automobile.
