An estimated 51.2 million American adults (45 percent of all shoppers) bought or planned to buy consumer technology products during the 2014 Thanksgiving shopping weekend, according to a new survey released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®. CEA’s 2014 Black Friday Report also finds that while overall shopping traffic was down slightly this holiday weekend compared to last year, several areas saw notable growth, including reported spending per person and tech purchases. Consumer survey is part of CEA’s ongoing recycling education and outreach efforts
A new study from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® shows electronics recycling receives continued support among consumers. According to the Recycling and Reuse Study, 2014 Edition, more than four-fifths of U.S. adults (82 percent) say recycling their old electronics is important or very important to them, and one-third of consumers surveyed (30 percent) recycled electronics products in the last year, a four percent increase from 2012.
Number of U.S. adults expecting to buy tech over the weekend up five percentage points
A record-breaking 103.3 million Americans will shop online between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday this year, an increase of 6.1 million shoppers over 2013, according to a new survey released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) ®. CEA’s 2014 Pre-Black Friday Report also finds, in total, 143 million U.S. consumers plan to shop over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, with 89 million U.S. adults planning to buy consumer technology products.
