Importance of Ecycling: CEA Study says More People are Recycling Electronics

Consumer survey is part of CEA’s ongoing recycling education and outreach efforts
A new study from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® shows electronics recycling receives continued support among consumers. According to the Recycling and Reuse Study, 2014 Edition, more than four-fifths of U.S. adults (82 percent) say recycling their old electronics is important or very important to them, and one-third of consumers surveyed (30 percent) recycled electronics products in the last year, a four percent increase from 2012.

More Americans Than Ever to Shop Online and via Mobile Devices over the Holiday Shopping Weekend

Number of U.S. adults expecting to buy tech over the weekend up five percentage points
A record-breaking 103.3 million Americans will shop online between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday this year, an increase of 6.1 million shoppers over 2013, according to a new survey released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) ®. CEA’s 2014 Pre-Black Friday Report also finds, in total, 143 million U.S. consumers plan to shop over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, with 89 million U.S. adults planning to buy consumer technology products.

NATPE||CONTENT FIRST AND CONSUMER ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATION COLLABORATE FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR ON JOINT CONSUMER RESEARCH

NATPE||Content First and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® have for a second consecutive year jointly commissioned a consumer research study, this time to gather insight into the content discovery process and alternatives to live TV viewing.  Findings from the two-phase study will be presented in two co-branded research reports at the 2015 International CES® and NATPE||Miami in January 2015 with each presentation followed by a panel discussion of senior executives from the content and consumer electronics industries, CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro and NATPE President and CEO Rod Perth announced today. From Cowboys to Movie Stars: CEA Inducts 12 Industry Leaders into the 2014 CE Hall of Fame

At the15th annual Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame awards ceremony held for the first time in New York City, 12 industry leaders joined the 197 inventors, engineers, retailers, journalists and entrepreneurs inducted since 2000 who have helped provide products and services that entertain, inform and connect consumers. Medved, founder of The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertainment Show, brings her knowledge of the tradeshow and conference industry to CEA 

Today, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) ® announced Denise Medved has been named vice president of sales and business development for the International CES® and International CES Asia. Medved brings extensive experience in trade show management and development.  She comes to CEA from Tiny Kitchen Inc., where she served as president and CEO since its establishment in 2005. Medved also held senior management positions at Reed Exhibition Companies, IDG World Expo, and National Trade Productions, Inc.
